Are you a former student of Biotechnology, Biobased sciences, or Bioinformatics, and want to remain a member of CODON? As an alumnus you can still be a part of our association and join us for all the great activities and ejoy all the carreer  possibilities!

Student

CODON is a place for people to meet each other, to gain new experiences and to focus on their study. Almost every biotechnologist joins our association! Our membership fee is only 10 EUR per year. This price also includes discount to all of your books at the WURshop, which means that your membership is almost free!

End your membership

Your membership will NOT end automatically when you have finished your studies or stopped studying. If you wish to end your membership you have to send a mail to bestuur@codon.nl. You can only end your membership every beginning of the academic year, so make sure to send your email before that moment.
However, if you want to stay updated on the association, you can also become an alumnus!

Become a member

CODON is a place for people to focus on their study, meet each other and to gain new experiences. Almost every biotechnologist joins our association! We organise regular activities focussing both on educational and social aspects. Being a CODON member comes with perks like discounted books and engaging events. Our membership fee is only 15 EUR per year, which means that your membership is (almost) covered after buying just one book! Do you need assistance with your registration or just want to have a chat? Come visit us in room 117 at the Forum! You’ll recognize our room by all of the CODON stickers.

End your membership

Become an alumnus​

If you wish to end your membership you can send a mail to bestuur@codon.nl. Please mention your contact details in this email. Do this before the 1st of September, otherwise the membership fee will still be charged. Note: You will not be automatically deregistered from the association upon graduation!

However, if you wish to stay updated on the association, you can also become an alumnus!

After graduating, it is possible to stay connected with the association. As a CODON alumnus, you can enjoy continued access to our weekly mails, the Almanac, and participation in activities for only 12 EUR per year! Most importantly, be sure to join our annual alumni day, where former members reunite to reconnect and reminisce!

KNCV - Royal Netherlands Chemical Society

The KNCV is a professional association with over 8,500 members in chemistry, life sciences, and process technology. The KNCV represents chemistry, life sciences, and process technology in the Netherlands, supporting social welfare and promoting an accurate image of chemistry. The molecular sector plays a key economic role, accounting for a quarter of Dutch R&D expenses. KNCV is also active internationally through EuCheMS and IUPAC, strengthening its presence in the global scientific community.

Membership comes with significant discounts on event fees, sometimes even granting free entry. Additionally, you will also receive the C2W magazine. The C2W is published 11 times a year, focusing on recent developments in chemistry and related fields. It covers academic and commercial advancements in the Netherlands and Flanders, curated by a professional editorial team with expertise in chemistry.

You can become a free member at the KNCV for 3 years as a bachelor student if you register through CODON!
